On February 11, 2009, the first ever public viewing of the Chevrolet Stingray Concept took place at the 2009 Chicago Auto Show. GM VP Ed Welburn unveiled the Stingray Concept - a vehicle featured in the 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' movie as an Autobot known as "Sideswipe." (Several sources had listed Sideswipe as being a "Chevy Corvette partially based on the 1959 Corvette Stingray concept car.")

Also featured in the 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' movie are the Chevrolet Camaro (as "Bumblebee"), the Chevy Trax and Beat Concepts (as the Autobot twins "Mudflap" and "Skids", and Chevy Volt (as "Jolt").

The Beat Concept will reach showrooms as the production Chevy Spark sometime in 2011.
